Bio

Venus Holloway Swatek received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia in 1993 in Middle Grades Education 4-8 with a major in reading/language arts and a minor in social science; she attained her Masters of Education in curriculum and literacy K-12 in 2006 from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. In 2010 she added K-5 to her certification. She completed her Specialist degree in curriculum and instruction at Piedmont College in 2016. She plans to attain her Doctorate in the near future as well.

 

Mrs. Swatek came to serve as assistant principal at Central Elementary in 2019. Previously, she worked three years as the district's middle school ELA Intervention Specialist, and before that, she taught grades 4-6 in all subject areas for 17 years and was voted Carroll County Schools' 1st runner up Teacher of the Year 2015.
